Skipping the Green Beer for Mocktails and Prayer on St. Patrick’s Day

With St. Patrick’s Day on the way, and the world as it is today this is a good reminder about the importance of staying sober during challenges in recovery. Although St. Patrick’s Day is normally associated with beer and other alcoholic beverages, there are plenty of non-alcoholic drinks you can enjoy. Avoid the green beer, and consider trying one or more of these mocktails for the holiday this year as part of your commitment to sober living One Day at a Time.  Also, join us in moment or two of silence or prayer for those already deeply affected by the coronavirus and all the uncertainty that lies ahead of us all. May God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Vanilla Mint Milkshake

This refreshing, non-alcoholic St. Patrick’s Day beverage is easy to make and only requires a handful of ingredients. Surprise Mocktail

This drink recipe for St. Patrick’s Day has a festive look that resembles a real cocktail, but there’s no alcohol in it. You don’t need many ingredients for this recipe either, and it doesn’t take long to make. Start by putting ice cubes in a shaker, then add two parts grapefruit juice and one part sparkling water. When you’re done with that, squeeze a bit of lime juice into the shaker, and add a drop of green food coloring. Shake this mixture, then pour it into a glass with crushed ice. You can add a garnish to this mocktail if you want.

Passionfruit and Berries Sparkler

This fizzy drink can hit the spot when you’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with friends or family. The recipe for it is simple and only requires a few ingredients to make. Begin by mixing a cup of passionfruit juice and one and a half cups of sparkling apple juice in a small or medium pitcher. Put some crushed ice in a glass, then add the sparkler mix to it.
